Experienced Pastry Chef
We are looking for an experienced, confident pastry chef to join our bakery team in Leyton, London. Our bakery team combines years of experience with excellent knowledge, training and enthusiasm ensuring our bread and pastry are some of the best in London and the UK. We now have an opportunity to add another pastry chef to the section, who can work alongside our head of pastry and the rest of the team to create world class viennoiserie with rigorous standards of production.
Our bakery prides itself on doing the classics, exceptionally well. An understanding of traditional viennoiserie and an interest in the culture of current baking trends is vital for our team – we may have a small offering but we take great pride in those key products. Our bakery is a large, bright space in London’s east end and offers the very best in equipment and ingredients – fresh flour, single estate chocolate and french butter make for the best pastries and we uphold rigorous standards on every ingredient we use.
Our bakery is the perfect place for someone enthusiastic and creative to exercise their baking and pastry skills, and we’re looking for someone who truly loves the industry and the products they create.
The right candidate will have a minimum of one years experience in a professional pastry kitchen of some kind (hotel, restaurant, bakery etc.) and must be able to work with excellent consistency and personal standards under the guidance of the head bakers and the owner.
Junior Cake Baker
We are looking for a junior cake baker and general sweets enthusiast to join our bakery team in Leyton, London. Our bakery team combines years of experience with excellent knowledge, training and enthusiasm ensuring our bread, pastry and cakes are some of the best in London and the UK. We now have an opportunity to add another cake chef to our newest section after an amazing 6 months of trialling cakes, tarts, cookies and all things sweet in our London sites!
We are looking for someone with around 1 years experience of baking in a professional bakery/kitchen or with significant similar experience. Whilst this is a junior role, we're looking for someone who has a strong handle on the basics of cakes and pastry and who can grow to be an integral part of the team, creating world class, classic cakes with rigorous standards of production. This may involve some early morning baking, and therefore you must be happy to work night/early morning shifts occasionally.
Our bakery prides itself on doing the classics, exceptionally well. An understanding of traditional British and European baking and an interest in the culture of current baking trends is vital. Things we love: Battenburg cake, Swiss Roll, Iced Buns, Millionaire's shortbread, citrus and polenta cakes, perfect cookies etc. We like to take simple, childhood classics and make them exceptionally well with exceptionally good ingredients.
Our bakery is the perfect place for someone enthusiastic and creative to exercise their baking and pastry skills, and we’re looking for someone who truly loves the industry. Most importantly, we want someone with the right attitude, who works wonderfully as part of a team and who has a positive and upbeat energy to add.
We are looking for a first-class, highly experienced Barista to add to our Victoria Park team. We are looking to extend our team with passionate and ambitious people, who have significant experience working with speciality coffee. You must be outgoing, personable and looking for a challenge. There are real opportunities within the company and we are looking for individuals who can drive us forward.
You need to have worked in similar demanding, high-volume positions and be able to deliver top class coffee under high pressure. We work with the very best coffees from Origin Roasters in Cornwall, with a focus on rotating single origins for filter brewing and slamming espresso all day every day. We take our coffee seriously, brewing on a brand new La Marzocco KB90 with VA Mythos grinders.
This is a full time role, and weekend availability is a must.
You must be an excellent communicator and a perfectionist. Being able to adapt and plan on your feet is key. You must love food and coffee and have the passion to sell our products as well as making a superb cup of coffee.
